Bedrooms First...PLEASE: Phase 1

When you are gutting EVERY room of the entire house it is hard to know where to start, especially if you are living in it at the same time. It's not a clean canvas, so you have to wipe the slate clean (demo and tear out) and start again.

So we thought about it, debated, and thought about it some more and we finally agreed we needed to get the bedrooms done first. My rationale was that when EVERYTHING else was in shambles I would have one place to go to get away from it all.

Wallpaper Removal...What a Nightmare

So, if you have never had to remove wallpaper let me just say you are ONE LUCKY PERSON! Man is it tedious! The bottom half of the master bedrooms walls are covered in the this purple flowery wall paper. Thank heavens for sisters who love tedious things, a 3, almost 4 year old angel who thinks its like one REALLY big sticker, a husband who has more determination in his finger than I had in my whole body for this first project, and a son who loves to be daddy's helper.

It Has Begun...Officially

Today is our first day completely out of the old house and the first day in the new old house! The stress of going between two houses, making sure the old rental house meets the landlords standards so we could get our deposit back, and finding anything in the mess of an unpacked house has come to an END! I have decided that moving is a love hate relationship.

And So Our Journey Begins...

Today we closed on our house! We are so excited to transform this gem in the rough into a home that people walk into and wish was theirs.
